About Us

We are two English teachers who moved from the US to Uruguay in 2018 and have made a wonderful life here with our many cats – perhaps too numerous to name – and our dog, Luka. One thing we’ve missed about the US is having the availability of books in English, so we’ve decided to remedy the situation by opening our own shop here in Punta del Este.

I have accumulated a great number of tree rings. Through it all, I have been left to wonder where all the raucous commentary was. If I were to have a philosophy on life–apart from “Have a good time, all the time”–I would have to say something along the lines of experience is only the comedy that you make of living.
